A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, REVISING THE SALARY RANGE OF THE
POLICE CHIEF
WHEREAS, in 2017, the City of West Covina adopted Resolution No. 2017-77
establishing a salary range for the Police Chief,
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has conducted a salary study and has determined
that the salary range for the Police Chief falls short from both the applicable mean and median
levels;
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina intends to modify the salary range for the Police
Chief to remain competitive in the labor market;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE THAT RESOLUTION NO. 2017-77, RELATED TO
SALARY RANGE FOR THE POLICE CHIEF CLASSIFICATION AND DEPARTMENT
HEAD BENEFITS, BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the salary range for the Police Chief Classification is hereby amended
to be as follows:
Classification Range Step 1 Step 5
Police Chief DH075 $14,307.00 $18,027.00
SECTION 2. The effective date of this Resolution is July 2, 2019.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
