A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING SPECIFIC VOLUNTEERS TO
BE EMPLOYEES FOR THE PURPOSE OF WORKERS'
COMPENSATION AND INSURANCE LAW
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina desires that volunteers receive Workers'
Compensation coverage; and
WHEREAS, Labor Code sections 3363.5 and 3351.5 amended the Workers'
Compensation and Insurance Law to permit public agencies to elect to cover all or certain
designated volunteers as employees be declaring that such volunteers are employees for the
purpose of the Workers' Compensation and Insurance Law.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The following to be employees for the Workers' Compensation and
Insurance Law.
SECTION 2. DECLARING SPECIFIC VOLUNTEERS TO BE EMPLOYEES FOR
THE PURPOSE OF WORKERS' COMPENSATION AND INSURANCE LAW Volunteers
who are or may be assigned to various City Departments, whose names are shown or may hereafter
be shown on the Log of Volunteers maintained by the Human Resources Department.
SECTION 3. CERTIFICATION The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
