A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR
DEPARTMENT HEADS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina has met with representatives
for the Department Heads; and
WHEREAS,. the City and the Department Heads have agreed upon certain changes to
salaries, benefits, and terms and conditions of employment as outlined in this resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve, determine
and order as follows:
SECTION 1. Term: Agreement is for a one (1) year term, and shall remain in full force
and effect from July 1, 2013, through midnight, June 30, 2014.
SECTION 2. Salary: The salary ranges for all non -sworn Department Heads be
increased by two percent (2%) "effective July 1, 2013.
SECTION" 3. Ongoing Holiday Closure: Effective June 30, 2014, and ongoing, City
Hall will be closed from December 24th through January 1 st. Employees will remain on paid
status during this period.. The day after Thanksgiving will no longer be recognized as a City
holiday.
SECTION 4. Sick Leave Annual Pay Out The maximum cash out allowed per year
(December 1 — November 30) will be increased from forty (40) to sixty (60) hours. All unused
sick leave hours above seventy-six (76) to be paid out will be paid to the employee's RHS
account. All unused sick leave hours to be paid out between thirty-six (36) and seventy-six (76)
will be paid in cash.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
