Resolution - 2007-09RESOLUTION NO. 2007-9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE CLASS SPECIFICATIONS FOR RECREATION ASSISTANT, RECREATION LEADER, RECREATION SITE COORDINATOR, DAY CARE TEACHER, DAY • CARE DIRECTOR, LIFEGUARD, LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR, ASSISTANT POOL MANAGER, POOL MANAGER, COMMUNITY SERVICES OFFICER, JAILER, AND POLICE RECORDS CLERK I/II; APPROVING THE NEW CLASS SPECIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT COOK, FOOD SERVICE WORKER, AND REPROGRAPHICS ASSISTANT (FORMERLY OFFSET EQUIPMENT OPERATOR TRAINEE); AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 4060 WHEREAS, the Human Resources Commission has reviewed and approved the revised class specifications for Recreation Assistant, Recreation Leader, Recreation Site Coordinator, Day Care Teacher, Day Care Director, Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, Assistant Pool Manager, Pool Manager, Community Services Officer, Jailer, and Police Records Clerk 1/II; and the new class specifications for Assistant Cook, Food Service Worker, and Reprographics Assistant. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the revised class specifications for Recreation Assistant, attached and marked as Exhibit A; Recreation Leader, attached and marked as Exhibits B and C; Recreation Site Coordinator, attached and marked as Exhibit D; Day Care Teacher, attached and marked as Exhibit E; Day Care Director, attached and marked as Exhibit F; Lifeguard, attached and marked as Exhibit G; Lifeguard Instructor, attached and marked as Exhibit H; Assistant Pool Manager, attached and marked as Exhibit I; Pool Manager, attached and marked as Exhibit J; Community Services Officer, attached and marked as Exhibit K; Jailer, attached and marked as Exhibit L; and Police Records Clerk 1/1I, attached and marked as Exhibit M are hereby adopted. SECTION 2. That the new class specifications for Assistant Cook, attached and marked as Exhibit N; Food Service Worker, attached and marked as Exhibit O; and Reprographics Assistant, attached and marked as Exhibit P are hereby adopted. Essential Functions 1. Interacts with and assists in the supervision of youth in games and activities and in proper use of playground and equipment apparatus. 2. Sets up and moves equipment. Leads recreation activities and encourages participants' interest in areas such as arts and crafts, sports, special events, etc. 2. Sets up facility and materials for recreation activities and special events. Collects fees, and issues receipts. 4. Interacts with parents, public, and staff participants. Arranges and supervises group and individual instruction in a variety of recreational classes and activities. 2. Oversees recreation related programming and coordinates the scheduling of classes. Under general supervision operates and maintains prisoner custody facilities, processes and cares for the health, safety and welfare, and transport of persons in custody, and does other related work as assigned. Essential Functions 1. Receives, processes, and searches prisoners. 2. Books, photographs, and fingerprints suspects; oversees permitted phone calls. 3. Maintains records related to suspects in custody. 4. Observes and routinely checks persons in custody to assure their health and safety. 5.
