RESOLUTION NO.2006-75
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, SPECIFYING LOCATIONS AND ADOPTING
ENHANCED PENALTY SCHEDULE UNDER NEIGHBORHOOD
PARKING PROTECTION ZONES
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina enacted Neighborhood Parking Protection Zones
(through Ordinance No. 2118 on September 07, 2004), for the purpose of deterring continued
parking violations.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby resolve,
determine, and order as follows:
SECTION 1. The streets adjacent to the following schools are hereby designated as
Neighborhood Parking Protections Zones:
CALIFORNIA SCHOOL (California Avenue, Bainbridge Street)
CAMERON SCHOOL (Cameron Avenue, Dawley Street, Mobeck Street)
EDGEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL (Durness Street, Trojan Way)
GIANO SCHOOL (Giano Street)
HOLLENCREST MIDDLE SCHOOL (Merced Street)
HOLLINGWORTH SCHOOL (Hollingworth Street, Sentous Avenue)
MERCED SCHOOL (Merced Street)
MESA SCHOOL (Barranca Avenue)
MONTE VISTA SCHOOL (Eldred Street)
ORANGEWOOD SCHOOL (Orange Avenue, Durness Street)
RINCON MIDDLE SCHOOL (Hollingworth Street, Ellesford Street)
ROWLAND SCHOOL (Rowland Avenue, Lark Ellen Avenue)
SANJOSE EDISON SCHOOL (Francisquito Avenue)
SOUTH HILLS ACADEMY (Francisquito Avenue)
SOUTH HILLS HIGH SCHOOL (Cameron Avenue, Barranca Avenue)
TRA WEEK MIDDLE SCHOOL (Rowland Avenue, Phillips Street, Armel Street)
VINE SCHOOL (Vine Street)
WESCOVE SCHOOL (Vine Street, California Avenue)
WEST COVINA HIGH SCHOOL (Cameron Avenue, Fern wood Street)
WILLOWOOD SCHOOL (Atwood Street, Orange Avenue)
WORKMAN SCHOOL (Workman Avenue)
SECTION 2. The enhanced penalty for a violation of any parking ordinance enumerated
in the West Covina Municipal Code or the California Vehicle Code in Neighborhood Parking
Protection Zones near schools shall be double the regular established fine.
SECTION 3. For purposes of this resolution, the above enumerated streets include only
that portion of the roadway that qualifies as a school zone as established by the California
Vehicle Code.
SECTION 4. The effective date of this Resolution is the 5`h day of September 2006.
