A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING CLARIFICATION
LANGUAGE FOR POSTED SIGNAGE AT CITY PARKS AND
RECREATION FACILITIES
WHEREAS, there are seventeen park sites in the City of West Covina and each park and
• facility contained therein has its own specific recreational land use(s); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to West Covina Municipal Code Section 16-19, the park rules are
to be established by Resolution of the City; and
WHEREAS, a Resolution formally establishing the proposed park rules has not been
adopted to date; and
WHEREAS, it is beneficial for park users to be informed of park rules; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to have approved and posted park rules in order to promote
public health, safety and general welfare of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Signage clearly specifying the park rules shall be placed and prominently
posted visible at all park entrances, parking lots, and areas of high public usage, such as picnic
sites, sports fields and courts.
Said signage shall specify the rules and regulations established pursuant to Chapter 16,
Article 11 of the West Covina Municipal Code, and the activities described as prohibited in said
Article H. Park signage required pursuant to the West Covina Municipal Code shall cite the
respective Municipal Code section being invoked.
