A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING IMPOUND FEES PURSUANT
TO SUBSECTION (e) OF SECTION 16-53 OF THE WEST COVINA
MUNICIPAL CODE FOR THE RELEASE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY
CONFISCATED PURSUANT TO SECTION 16-53
WHEREAS, pursuant to subsection (e) of Section 16-53 of the West Covina Municipal
is Code, fees for the impoundment of personal property such as skateboards, in -line skates, roller
skates, coasters, toy vehicles, bicycles or similar devices are to be established by resolution of
the City Council; and
WHEREAS, a resolution formally establishing impound fees has not been. adopted to
date; and
WHEREAS, it is beneficial for park users to be informed of impound fees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that the impound fees established
herein will serve as a deterrent against violation of the rules and regulations pertaining to skate
parks as set forth in Article III of Chapter 16 of the West Covina Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to have approved impound fees for law enforcement
purposes; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Pursuant to subsection (e) of Section 16-53 of the West Covina Municipal
Code, an impound fee of thirty dollars ($30.00) is hereby established for the release of personal
property confiscated pursuant to Section 16-53.
SECTION 2. A copy of this Resolution shall be maintained and made available to the
public at all skateboard parks in the City.
