RESOLUTION NO. 2005-1
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING LAURIE J. CARRICO TO FILL
THE PRESENT TERM OF CITY CLERK UNTIL NOVEMBER 8, 2005
WHEREAS, the elected City Clerk resigned from her position on December 16, 2004;
and
WHEREAS, Government Code section 36512(b) expressly authorizes the City Council
to appoint a City Clerk to fulfill any unexpired term of office; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of West Covina has determined that it is in the best
interest of the Citizens of West Covina to appoint Laurie J. Carrico as City Clerk in accordance
with the provisions set forth in Government Code section 36512(b).
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Laurie J. Carrico is hereby appointed City Clerk of the City of West Covina
for the remainder of the unexpired term of office of the City Clerk until November 8, 2005.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
