Resolution - 2004-66RESOLUTION NO; 2004-66 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA SUSPENDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE III, OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ADVISORY COMMISSIONS • WHEREAS, the City is facing budget impacts which have resulted in the City Council considering various cost saving measures; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it will benefit the City to suspend the duties and responsibilities of the Waste Management and Environmental Quality Commission and to vacate the offices of the current members to the commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it will benefit the City to reduce the number of commissioners' comprising the Senior Commission from seven to five. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of West Covina as follows: Section 1. The Waste Management and Environmental Quality Commission is hereby suspended. All duties and responsibilities set forth in Section 2-75 of the West Covina Municipal Code as they relate to the Commission are also suspended and are transferred to the City Council, as appropriate. The offices of the current commissioners are hereby vacated with the thanks and appreciation of the City Council. Section 2. The two offices of the Senior Commissioners that are appointed by Council -appointed Commissioners are hereby vacated with thanks and appreciation of the City Council. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20`h day of July, 2004.
