Resolution - 9744RESOLUTION NO. 9744 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA SUPPORTING THE NOMINATION OF ROSEMEAD MAYOR PRO TEM MARGARET CLARK FOR THE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY COUNCIL OF GOVERN- MENTS' RIVERS BOARD SEAT ON THE SAN GABRIEL AND LOWER LOS ANGELES RIVERS AND MOUNTAINS CONSERVANCY WHEREAS, Rosemead Mayor Pro Tem Margaret Clark serves on numerous committees dealing with watershed and environmental issues including the National league of Cities Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Steering Committee, and Southern California Association of Governments Energy and Environmental Committee; and WHEREAS, Margaret Clark serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles and San Gabriel River Watershed Council, composed of numerous environmental and governmental stakeholders and has the endorsement of that body; and WHEREAS, her services as President of the Los Angeles Division of the League of California Cities afforded her numerous opportunities to build relationships with Councilmembers in the southern portion of the watersheds; and WHEREAS, Rosemead Mayor Pro Tem Margaret Clark has served on the San Gabriel Water Quality Authority since 1992 and currently serves as Chairwoman. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF WEST COVINA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the City Council of West Covina endorses the nomination and election of Rosemead Mayor Pro Tem Margaret Clark to the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments' Rivers Board seat on the San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy. Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify as to the passage of this resolution and mail a certified copy to the City Council of the City of Rosemead.
