A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA ENDORSING AND INITIATING THE CITY'S
EV-READY COMMUNITY PROGRAM
• WHEREAS, the City of West Covina, California supports goals, objectives, policies and
action programs to protect air quality, enhance energy security and enhance international
competitiveness;
WHEREAS, the overall goal of the EV-READY COMMUNITY is to lay the
infrastructure to enable City residents and visitors to utilize electric vehicles;.
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has the opportunity to take a leadership role in the
development of advanced transportation and clean air technologies;
WHEREAS, the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) of
the South Coast Air Quality District intends to allocate funds to EV-Ready Communities
for electric vehicle charging infrastructure through the EV Charge Program;
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina wishes to continue the implementation of electric
vehicle charging infrastructure;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF. THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND FIND AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Endorsement and initiation of the City's EV-READY COMMUNITY
PROGRAM.
Section 2. Authorization of the Environmerrtal ,Management Director to commit to
participation requirements for MSRC funding.
Section 3. Authorization for the Environmental Management Director to purchase or
lease three electric vehicles for use in the City fleet.
Section 4. Authorization for the Environmental Management Director to use
maximum of $15,000 of the City's AB2766 subvention funds as co -
funding toward a potential grant award under the EV Charge Program.
