A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO APPLY
FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS
PURSUANT TO THE FEDERAL HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974 AS AMENDED AND CERTIFYING
THE ENVIRONMENTAL RECORD THEREON
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has been
charged with the task of developing viable communities under Title I of the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina seeks to request entitlement grant funds
under this legislation; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City of West Covina authorize a
representative to transact all contracts with Department of Housing and Urban
Development;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina resolves as
follows:
SECTION I. Declares its intention to apply for Federal Grant funds for the
1999-00 fiscal year pursuant to the provisions of the United States Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974.
SECTION II. Authorizes the City Manager to proceed with the filing of the
necessary applications and certifications with the United States Department of Housing
and Urban Development,
SECTION III. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this resolution.
