A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A PROPOSAL FOR
COMPETITIVE GRANT FUNDS FOR THE SENIOR CITIZENS MEALS
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles County. Area Agency on Aging has been
charged with the task of providing services to the elderly under Title III C-1 and C-2 of
the Older Americans Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina seeks to request grant funds under this
legislation; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City of West Covina authorize a
representative to transact all contracts with the County on behalf of the West Covina
Senior Citizens Center;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina resolves as
follows:
SECTION I. Approve the filing of an application for grant funds under Title III
C-1 and C-2 through the Los Angeles County Area Agency on Aging.
SECTION II. Designate the City Manager, or in his absence, the Community
Services Director, to sign all contracts and documents necessary to accompany the
application, including any amendments.
SECTION III. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
