RESOLUTION NO. 9546 - A RESOLUTION OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF
CLASSIFICATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
LIMITED SERVICE CLASSIFICATIONS AND AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO.9393.
0 WHEREAS, the federal government has enacted the Small Business Job Protection
Act in 1996 which establishes minimum wage levels; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina is required to comply with such law by
assuring City employees are paid at the level established; and
WHEREAS, the minimum federal wage has been established at $5.75 per hour
effective March 1, 1998, which impacts the current starting hourly wage for the classifications of
Clerk Aide I, Clerk Aide H, Recreation Assistant/Food Service Worker; Swimming Pool Cashier;
Reserve Police Officer, and Reserve Police Sergeant.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as
SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 9393 is hereby amended by this Resolution.
SECTION 2. That the hourly wage range for the classes below are hereby
established as follows:

SECTION 3. Budget Allocation. Funds for these adjustments are contained in the
Police Department's approved Fiscal Year 1997/98 budget.
SECTION 4. The effective date of this Resolution is March 1. 1998.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
