A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO.
5682 RELATING TO MEETING TIMES AND PLACES OF CITY
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5682, adopted on April 24, 1978, specifies that the
meetings of all City boards and commissions created by ordinance or resolution shall
commence at 7:30 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission duties, among others, is to hear and decide
various development and use applications, most of which involve receiving public
testimony; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Planning Commission to allow the public to
participate in the matters pertaining to the Commission; and
WHEREAS, on February 10, 1998, the Planning Commission voted unanimously
to recommend to the City Council that it approve a modification of the meeting time from
7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to allow more convenient opportunity for the public to participate
in its meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
West Covina does hereby amend Resolution No. 5682 as follows:
SECTION 1. Commencing with the first regular Planning Commission meeting
in May 1998, the regular meetings of the Planning Commission shall commence at 7:30
p.m. in the City Council Chambers at West Covina City Hall. This shall rescind the
change in meeting time to 7:00 p.m. established by Resolution No. 8853.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify as to the passage of this resolution.
