RESOLUTION NO. 9525
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING BENEFITS
FOR MANAGEMENT, MID -MANAGEMENT AND
CONFIDENTIAL/EXEMPT EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina wishes to establish a Vacation Buy -Back Program for
Management, Mid -Management and Confidential/Exempt employees; and
WHEREAS, such a program had been in place until the end of calendar year 1995, and is
currently only available to safety management employees; and
WHEREAS, the City sees value in reinstituting such a benefit at this time;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby resolve as
follows:
SECTIONI. That Resolution No. 9274 is hereby amended as follows:
Vacation Buy -Back
a. Management and Mid -Management Employees
Management and Mid -Management employees with less than five years of City
service may receive payment in lieu of up to 80 hours of accumulated vacation time
in any calendar year upon filing a written request with the Finance Department at
least five days prior to the requested date of issuance of the check, upon approval of
their department head. Management and Mid -Management employees with five or
more years of City service may receive payment in lieu of up to 120 hours of
accumulated vacation time in the same manner as described.
b. Confidential/Exempt Employees
Confidential/Exempt employees with less than five years of City service may
receive payment in lieu of up to 40 hours of accumulated vacation time in any
calendar year upon filing a written request with the Finance Department at least five
days prior to requested date of issuance of the check, upon approval of their
department head. Confidential/Exempt employees with five or more years of City
service may receive payment in lieu of up to 80 hours of accumulated vacation time
in the same manner as described.
SECTION 2. The remaining provisions of Resolution No. 9274 shall remain in full force
and effect until amended or repealed by resolution of the City Council.
SECTION 3. The effective date of this Resolution is upon adoption.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
