RESOLUTION NO. 9485
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES REGIONAL PARK AND OPEN SPACE
DISTRICT PER PARCEL DISCRETIONARY GRANT
PROGRAM FOR THE HURST RANCH HISTORICAL
FOUNDATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the people of the County of Los Angeles on November 3, 1992, enacted the Los
Angeles County Proposition A Safe Neighborhood Parks, Gang Prevention, Tree -Planting, Senior and
Youth Recreation, Beaches and Wildlife Protection (the Proposition), which provides funds to the
County of Los Angeles and other public agencies in the County for the purposes of acquiring and/or
developing facilities for public recreational facilities and open space; and
WHEREAS, the Proposition Also created the County of Los Angeles Regional Park and Open
Space District (the District) to administer said funds; and
WHEREAS, the District has set forth the necessary procedures governing local agency applications
for grant funds under the Proposition; and
WHEREAS, the District's procedures require the Applicant to certify, by resolution, the approval of
the application before submission of the application to the District; and
WHEREAS, the project is an important park and recreation project for the City of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, the application contains assurances that the Applicant must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant will enter an agreement with the District for acquisition or development
of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF WEST COVINA:
SECTION 1. Approves the filing of an application with the County of Los Angeles Regional Park
and Open Space District for funds under Section 8.b.1 of the Proposition for the above
project.
SECTION 2. Certifies that the Apphcant understands the assurances and certification in the
application form.
SECTION 3. Certifies that the Applicant has, or will have, sufficient funds to operate and maintain
the project in perpetuity.
SECTION 4. Appoints the Community Services Director as agent of the City of West Covina to
conduct all negotiations, and to execute and submit all documents including, but not
limited, to, applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and so forth,
which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.

SECTION 5. Directs the City Clerk to certify to the adoption of this resolution and enter it into the
book of original resolutions.
