A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA VACATING AND
ABANDONING A PORTION OF A STREET WHICH IS
• EXCESS RIGHT-OF-WAY (THELBORN STREET).
WHEREAS, Dr. Chew has designed his office building rehabilitation with
columns that will encroach into street right-of-way;
WHEREAS, Dr. Chew , the adjacent property owner, has requested the vacation
of the above mentioned portion of Thelborn Street for better utilization of its property.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Sections 8330 to 8334, inclusive, of the Streets and
Highways Code, the City Council of the City of West Covina hereby finds and
determines that the following described portion of Thelborn Street is excess
right-of-way.
"That portion of Lot 5 in Block 21. of the Phillips Tract, in the City of
West Covina, as per map recorded in Book 9, Page 3 of
Miscellaneous Records in the Office of the County Recorder of the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows:
The southerly 2.00 feet of the northerly 26.00 feet of the easterly
195.00 feet of the westerly 212.00 feet measured from the easterly
line.of Azusa Avenue 66.00 feet wide.
EXCEPT therefrom that portion described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line of the northerly
26.00 feet with the westerly line of the easterly 195.00 feet, thence
NO° 08'48"E 2.00 feet; thence S890 06'39" E 19.00 feet; thence
S450 31'04W 2.83 feet to the southerly line of the northerly 26 feet;
thence; along last said southerly line N89 ° 06'39"W 17.00 feet to
the point of beginning."
SECTION 2. That portion of existing Thelborn Street described in Section 1
hereof is hereby summarily vacated and abandoned.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and
shall cause a certified copy thereof to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder
of said County.
