A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
COLLECTION OF THE ANNUAL SEWER STANDBY
AVAILABILITY CHARGE THROUGH THE COUNTY GENERAL
TAX BILL:
• WHEREAS, the City of West Covina is empowered by State law to fix an annual
sewer standby or immediate availability charge; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina has adopted such sewer
service standby or immediate availability charge as attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the City may collect the standby and availability charge by billing the
charged lands on a fiscal year basis or by other means available; and
WHEREAS, the City may collect the standby and availability charge on a frontage,
unit or per parcel basis.
WHEREAS, the City may collect the standby and availability charge as part of the
annual County General .Tax Bill; and
WHEREAS, the State law requires that a duly noticed public meeting to be held on
the proposed collection of the Standby Availability Charges as part of the General Tax Bill; and .
WHEREAS, on June 21, 1994, such duly noticed public meeting was conducted by
the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the State law requires that a duly noticed public hearing be held on the
proposed collection of the standby and availability charge as part of the General Tax Bill; and
WHEREAS, on July 19, 1994, such duly noticed public hearing was conducted by the
City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby
authorize the collection of the annual sewer service standby and availability charges through the
County General Tax Bill for Fiscal Year 1994-95.
SECTION 1. The City Clerk of the City of West Covina shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
