Resolution - 9109• • RESOLUTION NO. 9109 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE "CONSENSUS APPROACH TO GROUNDWATER CLEANUP". WHEREAS, the San Gabriel Groundwater Basin has been declared a superfund site due to groundwater contamination; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina is concerned with achieving effective groundwater cleanup of the Basin as a local water source; and WHEREAS, the San Gabriel Basin Water Quality Authority ("WQA") has proposed a "Consensus Approach" solution to the Baldwin Park Operable Unit; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes the Consensus Approach may be effective to achieve a groundwater cleanup solution, avoid costly litigation, and protect the local economy. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby resolve to continue to investigate the consensus approach and consider it when the supporting documentation is available for review. Approved and adopted this 5th day of July, 1994.
