A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA AUTHORIZING STAFF TO NEGOTIATE
AND THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A LEASE/PURCHASE
AGREEMENT WITH FORD MOTOR CREDIT COMPANY FOR
THE ACQUISITION AND FINANCING OF TWENTY-ONE
POLICE PATROL UNITS.
• At a duly called meeting of the governing body of the
City of West Covina held on the 18th day of May, 1993, the
following resolution was introduced and adopted.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a true and
real need exists for the financing and acquisition of twenty-one
police patrol units in order to provide police services to its
citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has taken the necessary steps,
including any legal bidding requirements, under applicable law to
arrange for the financing and acquisition of such equipment by
lease/purchase agreement with Ford Motor Credit Company.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes City
Staff to negotiate with Ford Motor Credit Company for the
lease/purchase agreement, subject to the approval of the City
Attorney, for the financing and acquisition of these police patrol
units, and the City Council designates and confirms the Mayor to
execute and deliver, and the City Clerk to attest, respectively, to
that lease/purchase agreement, and any related documents necessary
to the consummation of the transactions contemplated by that
lease/purchase agreement.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and thenceforth an thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
