A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY ATTORNEY TO FILE APPROPRIATE PAPERS TO
HAVE THE CITY OF WEST COVINA BECOME AN
INTERVENOR IN THE CASE OF UPPER SAN GABRIEL
VALLEY MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT VS. THE CITY
OF ALHAMBRA, ET AL.
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina from 1971 through.1976 purchased
water which came from the Main San Gabriel Basin; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to again purchase water from the Main San
Gabriel Basin; and
WHEREAS, there is a Case of Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water
District vs. the City of Alhambra, et al which case involves water rights within the Main San
Gabriel Basin; and
Gabriel Basin;
WHEREAS, the City desires to protect its rights to water from the Main San
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Attorney is authorized and directed to file appropriate
papers with the courts and/or with the Water Master of the Main San Gabriel Basin as
needed to have the City of West Covina become an intervenor in the Case of Upper San
Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District vs. the ci of Alhambra, et al.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
