RESOLUTION NO. 8946
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES,
IN COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 3775 OF THE
REVENUE AND TAXATION CODE FOR THE
PURCHASE OF TAX DEFAULTED PROPERTY IN THE
• RIGHT-OF-WAY OF WALNUT CREEK CHANNEL.
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works, on
behalf of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District is interested in acquiring tax -
defaulted property within the City of West Covina for flood control purposes for Walnut
Creek Wash; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 3775 of the Revenue and
Taxation Code, the selling price of the tax -defaulted property is subject to the approval of
West Covina's City Council and Mayor; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works has
requested the City Council to approve the selling price and authorize the Mayor to execute
Agreements for this purchase by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 3775 of the Revenue and Taxation Code,
the City Council of the City of West Covina hereby approves a selling price of $125.00 for
purchase by the Los Angeles County Flood Control District of Assessors Map Book Parcel
No. 8463-017-002 for flood control purposes.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute in the name of the
City the agreements for purchase and the City Clerk is instructed to attest to the signature
and affix the City seal to these documents.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6thday of April . 1993.
