RESOLUTION NO. 8944
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING CERTAIN
APPLICATION FILING FEES TO RECOVER THE COSTS
• ASSOCIATED WITH PROCESSING MINIATURE POT-
BELLIED PIG PERMITS.
WHEREAS, on October 20, 1992, the City Council directed the Planning
Commission to draft an amendment to the Municipal Code to allow the keeping of
miniature pot-bellied pigs in. single-family residentially zoned properties subject to the
approval of an animal use permit; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission upon giving the required notice did on the
9th day of March, 1993, conduct a duly advertised public hearing as prescribed by
law; and
WHEREAS, upon considering studies and investigations related to the keeping
of miniature pot-bellied pigs within the City at the March 9, 1993, public hearing, the
Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. 3-93-4145 recommending that the City
Council establish provisions in the Municipal Code for the permitting and licensing of
pot-bellied pigs, including the associated fees to recover the costs for these services.
WHEREAS, the following fee does not exceed the reasonable cost of service
for processing a miniature pot-bellied pig permit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of West
Covina as follows:
SECTION 1: The following fee is hereby established by the City Council to be
collected at the time an application for a miniature pot-bellied pig permit is submitted
to the Planning Department: $50.00.
SECTION 2: The effective date of the new fee is the same as the effective
date of Amendment No. 253.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and
shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
