RESOLUTION NO. 8940
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, PRELIMINARILY
APPROVING THE REPORT OF THE CITY ENGINEER
MADE PURSUANT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF
RESOLUTION NO. 89I2.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina, California, did in
Resolution No. 8912 adopted January 19, 1993, pursuant to. the provisions of the
"Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972% of the State of California (Part 2 of Division 15,
Section 22500, et seg. of the Streets and Highways Code of said State) require the City
Engineer to make and file with the City Clerk of the City Council a report in writing,
presenting certain matters relating to the proposed maintenance thereof, including the
maintenance of all such fixtures and appurtenances throughout the said City, and for the
installation of certain landscaping and the maintenance thereof, including the maintenance of
existing landscaping in various areas within said City, and for the installation of certain
traffic signals, and the proposed maintenance thereof, including the maintenance of all such
traffic signals and appurtenances throughout the City, and for the development and
maintenance of certain parks and recreational facilities including the maintenance of all parks
and recreational facilities throughout the City as contemplated under the provisions•of said
"Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972"; and
WHEREAS, said City Engineer, pursuant to the requirements of said City
Council as expressed in Resolution No. 8912 and of said law, did make and on the 16th day
of March, 1993, file in the Office of the City Clerk (who is ex-offrcio Clerk of the City
Council) of said City, his report in writing responsive to the requirements of said Resolution
No. 8912 and of said law referred to in said Resolution No.. 8912 and as contemplated under
the provisions of said "Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972"; and
WHEREAS, said City Clerk has presented the said report to the City Council
of said City, and said Council has considered said report;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina,
California, does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the report of the City Engineer of the City of West
Covina, California, bearing the date of 16th of March, 1993, which said report was prepared
and filed pursuant to the requirements of the provisions of Resolution No. 8912 of the City
Council of said City, and in conformity with the provisions of the "Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972", of the State of California (Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways
Code of said State), and which said report was filed in the office of the City Clerk of the
City of West Covina, California, on the 16th day of March, 1993, be and the same is hereby
preliminarily approved subject to modification at the Protest Hearing.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
