A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING
APPLICATION FOR WATER RECLAMATION FUNDS
FROM THE STATE REVOLVING FUND LOAN PROGRAM.
• WHEREAS, there have now been five consecutive years of drought conditions
in the State of California; and
I
WHEREAS, using reclaimed water to irrigate publicly maintained landscaping
within the City, the B.K.K. Company landscaping, and the South Hills Golf Course will
conserve approximately 2,800 acre feet per year of potable water; and
WHEREAS, the City of Industry has the capability of delivering said amount
of reclaimed water to the City; and
WHEREAS, the California State Water Resources Control Board administers a
program which provides for low interest loans for reclaimed water projects;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby authorizes application for a loan
from the State Revolving Fund Loan Program of the California State Water Resources
Control Board in the amount of $6,700,000 for the design and construction of the Reclaimed
Water Use Plan and authorizes execution of a loan contract if a loan for this project is
offered.
SECTION 2. That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to submit a loan
application and negotiate and execute a loan contract for this project for and on behalf of the
City of West Covina.,
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
