RESOLUTION NO. 8800
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THAT: a) RESOLUTION NO. 8265 BE
AMENDED TO REFLECT INCREASE IN FEE; AND b) THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT ADJUST THE FEE ANNUALLY OR AS NEEDED BASED ON THE
ACTUAL COST OF THE FUNCTION.
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 54990 states that the City may
charge fees for services as long as such fees do not exceed the
reasonable cost of providing the service, and
WHEREAS, fifty-five ($55) dollars is a conservative and
reasonable estimate of the City's cost for processing the release of
an impounded vehicle,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina,
does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Effective April 1, 1992, Resolution No. 8265 is
amended to reflect a fee of $55 for a release of impounded vehicle.
SECTION 2. That the fee imposed by Section 1, hereof shall be
increased or decreased annually as of July 1 of each calendar year
beginning July 1, 1993, if deemed necessary by.the Police Department
based on the actual cost of the function.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
