A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING THE
PROCEDURE FOR AN AMENDMENT TO CERTAIN SECTIONS
OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 26,
• RELATING TO THE TEMPORARY USE OF FLAGS AND
BANNERS FOR MULTIPLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
DEVELOPMENTS (AMENDMENT NO. 249).

WHEREAS, the City has received requests from various managers
of multiple family residential developments to consider allowing
the temporary use of flags and banners to attract potential
tenants.
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered this request in light
of current economic conditions and the possible impacts associated
therewith.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined it is appropriate and
necessary at this time to evaluate the subject request.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, that the City Council of the
City of West Covina does direct staff to proceed with studies and
investigations relating to the temporary use of flags and banners
for multiple family residential developments and leading to a
possible code amendment, to be considered at a duly noticed public
hearing before the Planning Commission.
