A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING APPENDIX "A" OF
RESOLUTION NO. 8287, THE CITY'S SALARY RANGE
STRUCTURE FOR EMPLOYEES IN THE WEST COVINA FIREFIGHTERS'
ASSOCIATION AS AMENDED; AND RESOLUTION NO. 7223,
RELATING TO CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION OF
POSITIONS AS AMENDED; AND FIXING COMPENSATION AND
BENEFITS FOR PERSONNEL AND CLASSES REPRESENTED BY
• THE WEST COVINA FIREFIGHTERS' ASSOCIATION.
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has met and conferred with
the West Covina Firefighters' Association; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina and the West Covina
Firefighters' Association agree that a failure to reach agreement
pursuant to City Code Section 2-222 is in existence; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heard testimony from both
representatives of the City and of the West Covina Firefighters'
Association relating to their positions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has made a determination regarding
issues related to wages, benefits and working conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina
does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Salary. That Appendix "A" of Resolution
No. 8287, the City's salary range structure for employees in the West
Covina Firefighters' Association is hereby amended by Appendix A of
this Resolution; and Resolution No. 7223, relating to the classifi-
cation and compensation of positions, as amended, and fixing compensa-
tion and benefits for personnel and classes represented by the West
Covina Firefighters' Association are hereby amended by this Resolution.
SECTION 2. Medical and Dental Benefits. Effective July 1,
1992, the City will contribute $429 per month to employees to offset
the cost of health and dental insurance.
SECTION 3. Military Service - PERS Buyback. That the City
Council does agree to amend the PERS contract to allow employee
purchase of service credit for military time served..
SECTION 4. Budget Allocation. That the City Council does
hereby allocate an amount of money sufficient to fund the salary and
budget adjustments for the life of this Resolution.
SECTION 5. The effective date of this Resolution is
February 1, 1992.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.
