RESOLUTION NO. 8772
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA CALLING A SPECIAL
ELECTION TO FILL THE VACANCY ON THE
CITY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, a vacancy has occurred on the City Council due to the recent death
of Councilmember William "Bill" Tarozzi on December 10, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the term of office for Bill Tarozzi expires on April 14, 1992,
the date of the next regular General Municipal"Election; and
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 3.6512 requires the City Council to either
fill the vacancy by appointment or call a special election to fill
the vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of West Covina decided on December 17, 1992 to call
a special election for April 14, 1992 to fill the vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the adoption of this resolution will formalize the Council's
decision to call a special election on April 14, 1992 to comply
with Government statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF WEST COVINA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. A special election will be held on April 14, 1992
to fill the vacancy created on the City Council
December 10, 1992.
SECTION 2.'_. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this
resolution and enter it among the book of original
resolutions.
