A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND
AUTHORIZING THE PARTICIPATION OF THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT IN A FEDERAL GRANT PROJECT. (Career
Criminal Apprehension Program)
. WHEREAS, the City of West Covina desires to undertake a
certain project designated Career Criminal Apprehension Program to
be funded in part from funds made available through the Omnibus
Crime Control and Safe Streets,Act of 1968, PL 90-351, as amended,
(hereafter referred to as the Crime Control Act) administered by
the Office of Criminal Justice Planning ,(hereafter referred to
as OCJP).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief of Police
of the City of West Covina is authorized, on its behalf to submit
the attached Application for Grant for Law Enforcernent.Purposes to
OCJP and is authorized to execute on behalf of the City of West
Covina the attached Grant Award for law enforcement purposes in-
cluding any extensions or amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to provide
all matching funds required for said project (including any extension
or amendment thereof) under the Crime Control Act and the rules and
regulations of OCJP and the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration
and that cash will be appropriated as required thereby.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder
shall not be used to supplant law enforcement expenditures controlled
by this body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk
• shall certify to the adoption of the resolution.
