OF A CERTAIN
RESOLUTION NO. 5978
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE VACATION
PORTION OF PASS AND COVINA ROAD.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of West Covina
does hereby find, determine, and declare as follows:
(a) That on the 9th day of July, 1979, at a regular meet-
ing of said Council, Resolution No. 5958 was duly adopted by a
vote of said Council setting the time for hearing on the proposed
vacation of a certain portion of Pass and Covina Road located
within the City of West Covina:
(b) That said area proposed to be vacated is more particu-
larly described as follows:
That portion of Pass and Covina Road, 60 feet in width,
in the City of West Covina, County of Los Angeles, State
of California, as shown on a map filed in Book 85, Pages
10, 11, and 12, Record of.Surveys, in the office of the
County Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Commencing at a point of intersection with the northerly
• boundary of Lot 1 as shown on said map filed in Book 85,
Pages 10, 11, and 12, and the westerly line of Lark Ellen
Avenue, 80.00 feet in width, as shown on a map of Tract
No. 24006, as per map recorded in Book 805, Pages 1 to 4
inclusive of Maps, in said Recorder's office; thence along
said northerly boundary of Lot 1, South 640 40' 49" West,
a distance of 450.85 feet to the easterly line of said
Pass and Covina Road as shown on said map filed in Book 85,
Pages 10, 11, and 12; thence along said easterly line,
South 280 01' 49" East, a distance of 220.87 feet to the
TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing along said
easterly line South 28o 01' 49" East, a distance of 289.62
feet to a point on a non -tangent curve concave easterly
with a radius of 1,040.00 feet, a radial to said point
bears South 8.30 06' 41" West; said curve also being the
westerly line of said Lark Ellen Avenue; thence along said
curve through a central angle of 130 11' 23", a distance
of 239.41 feet to the westerly line of said Pass and Covina
Road; thence along said last mentioned westerly line
North 28o 01' 49" West, a distance of 671.16 feet to a
point on a non -tangent curve concave northeasterly with a
radius of 333.00 feet, a radial to said point bears
South 540 16' 23" West; thence along said last mentioned
curve through a central angle of 280 07' 41" a distance of
163.48 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
• RESERVING AND EXCEPTING ALSO from said vacation the permanent
easement and right at any time, or from time to time, to.construct,
maintain, operate, replace, remove, and renew sanitary sewers, and

appurtenant structures thereof and to construct, maintain, operate,
replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe; conduits, cables,
wires, poles and other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures
for the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone lines,
and for the transportation or distribution of electric energy and
water lines, including access and the right to keep the property
free from inflammable materials, and wood growth,and otherwise
protect the same from all hazards in, upon, and over the street or
part thereof proposed to be vacated.
(c) That on the 13th,day of August, 1979, at a regular meet-
ing of the City Council, the said City Council did hold a public
hearing to determine whether the said area above -described should
be vacated as a public street.
SECTION 2. It hereby is found, determined, and declared by
the City Council of the City of West Covina, after hearing the
evidence adduced, that the above -described portions within the
City of West Covina is not necessary for present or prospective
public street purposes and the general welfare and convenience of
the City of West Covina require that the same be vacated. The said
portions above described hereby are vacated as public streets.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and cause the same to be recorded with the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles and to file
all other necessary documents in order that this vacation become
effective.
