A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE SALARY
AND BENEFITS FOR THE POSITION OF FIRE BATTALION CHIEF;
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 5885 IN ITS ENTIRETY;
— AND AMENDING SECTION IX(e) OF RESOLUTION NO. 1277,
SECTION 4 OF RESOLUTION NO. 5887 AND AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 5806.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 5885 relating to previous salary
and benefits for Fire Battalion Chiefs is hereby rescinded in its entirety.
SECTION 2. That Resolution No. 5806 relating to the City's List
of Authorized Positions,is hergbv amended to delete F-9a as the assigned
salary range for the position of'Fire Battalion Chief.
SECTION 3. That the classification of Fire Battalion Chief is re-
affirmed as a management exempt position and shall become part of the City's
management team and shall be entitled to the management benefit package as pro-
vided for in Section 5 of Resolution No. 5887.
SECTION 4. That Section 4 of Resolution No. 5887 is amended to
include the position of Fire Battalion Chief at salary range DHR-C and the
monthly salary of each Battalion Chief is hereby established as follows:

SECTION 5. That Section IX(e) of Resolution No. 1277 relating to
the required number of shifts and hours of work for the position of Battalion
Chief is hereby deleted.
SECTION 6. The effective date of this resolution is July 1, 1979.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
