A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING. ITS INTENTION
TO COLLECT THE ANNUAL SEWER STANDBY AND AVAIL-
ABILITY CHARGE THROUGH THE COUNTY GENERAL TAX
BILL AND ESTABLISHING A DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEAR-
ING THEREON.
WHEREAS, Section 38902 of the Government Code empowers a city
to fix an annual sewer service standby or immediate availability
charge;
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina, by Resolution No. 5726, has
established such a sewer service or immediate availability charge;'
WHEREAS, the City may collect the standby or immediate avail-,
ability charge as part of the annual general County tax bill;
WHEREAS, the law requires a public hearing be held on this
method of collecting the service charge;
NOW, THEREFORE, -.be it resolved that the City Council of the
City of West Covina does hereby.declare its intention to collect
sewer standby or immediate availability charges as a part of the
annual general County tax bill, and hereby sets June 25, 1979, as
the date for the public hearing on this method of collecting the
service charges.
SECTION 1. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized, desig-
nated and directed to give notice of said hearing in time, form and
manner as required by law.
SECTION 2. That the West Covina Tribune, a weekly newspaper
of general circulation, published and circulated within the said
City of West Covina, California, is hereby designated as the news-
paper in which such notice shall be published_.
SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately,
and the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered among
the original resolutions of the City Council of said city; and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of
the proceedings of the City Council of said city in the minutes, of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
