A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICA-
TION FOR BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FUNDS AUTHORIZED
UNDER SB 821 AND RECONFIRMING THE ADOPTION OF
ITS BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN PLAN.
WHEREAS, SB 821 provides that two percent of each County's
total local Transportation Fund be annually set aside and used to
fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has planned a bikeway
system in conformance with specifications of the California
Highway Design Manual and the Regional Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Covina desires to construct the
master bikeway system within their city utilizing the funds
available under SB 821.
NOW, THEREFORE, -the City Council of the City of West Covina
does resolve as follows:
1. Reconfirm the East San Gabriel Valley Bikeway
Plan adopted in conformance with the specifi-
cations of the California Highway Design
Manual and the Regional Transportation Plan:
2. To authorize Harry Thomas, James Gurr, and
David Nelson as the City's authorized signa-
tures and designated contact people.
3. To apply for all funds available for alloca-
tion to the City of West Covina for bikeways
and pedestrian facilities pursuant to SB 821.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this resolution...
