A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
• COVINA, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AN AGREEMENT FOR THE
PLACEMENT OF OVERHEAD COMMUNICATIONS LINES ON EXIST
ING POLES AND SURETY BOND TO SECURE THE SAME.

WHEREAS, Section 7502 of the West Covina Municipal Code relat-
ing to the undergrounding of utility lines permits the expansion of
existing overhead facilities under certain conditions; and
WHEREAS, the Western Union Company has requested permission to
place a communications line on existing poles on certain streets
within the city of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, the Western Union Company has satisfied all appli-
cable conditions of the.West Covina Municipal Code,
NOW, THEREFORE, be.it resolved that the City Council hereby
finds that the following conditions and requirements are complied
with:
1. That theexpansionis limited to the placement of
additional communications lines on existing utility
poles.
2. That the.proposed expansion will not endanger the pub-
lic health, safety and welfare.
3. That the Western Union Company has entered -into an
agreement with the City providing that at the time
the existing overhead facilities are undergrounded,
any and all additional lines which constitute the.
expansion application shall also be undergrounded
at the applicant's expense..
A bond has been posted guaranteeing execution of
the agreement.
4. That the proposed expansion will not substantially
alter the appearance of the existing overhead
facilities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
West Covina does hereby approve the application of the Western Union
Company for the placement of overhead lines on existing poles on
certain streets in the city of:West Covina.
