RESOLUTION NO. 5897
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5806
RELATING TO THE CITY'S LIST OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS
AND DESIGNATION OF SALARY RANGES.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding between
the City of West Covina and the West Covina Police Officer's Association a
classification study was conducted between ranks of Police Officer and Corporal,
Corporal and Sergeant, Sergeant and Lieutenant.
SECTION 2. As a result of recommendations of said study, repre-
sentatives from the City of West Covina and the West Covina Police Officer's
Association have met and conferred and have executed a Memorandum of Understanding
on the results of said study.
SECTION 3. That as a result of said study, certain sworn police
classifications shall have their assigned salary ranges adjusted as follows:
Police Corporal - 22% from P-2a to P-3
Police Sergeant - 72% from P-4a to P-6
Police Lieutenant - 10% from P-6a to P-8a
SECTION 4. That the pay range adjustments noted above shall be
made retroactive to January 1, 1979.

the City Council of the City of West Covina at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 9t h day of April , 1979, by the following vote of the Council:
