A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE COMPENSATION PAYABLE TO
CLASSIFICATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA'S
CLASSIFIED AND LIMITED SERVICES AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO. 5507 IN ITS ENTIRETY.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 5507 is hereby rescinded and super -
ceded by this Resolution.
SECTION 2. That Section VII of Resolution No. 1277 relating to wages
for limited service positions is hereby amended.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution in its entirety, upon its operative
date, is incorporated as Section VI of Resolution No. 1277, the "Classification and
Salary Resolution."
SECTION 4. That the City's Basic Pay Range Schedule is hereby amended
to reflect an average four percent (4%).salary increase to classifications within and appro-
priate to the West Covina Police Officer's Association, the West Covina City General
Employee's Association, the Service Employee's International Union Local 690 and other
non -represented Limited Service classifications, except recreation and aquatic classi-
fications, as designated in.Appendices A and B, on file in the City's Personnel Office.
SECTION 5. That the salary increases to the classifications designated
in Section 4 will be made retroactive to February 16, 1979, upon the operative date of
this Resolution which is March 17, 1979, unless the California Supreme Court's decision
in the case of Sonoma Organization of Public Employees v. County of Sonoma et al, does
not become final on said date in which case this Resolution shall become operative on
the date the Supreme Court's decision becomes final. Notwithstanding the above, the
effective date of wage increases ,for the limited service classifications shall be
April 1, 1979.
SECTION 6. That Resolution No. 5830 relating to the Basic Pay Range
Schedule for the classifications of Firefighter, Engineer, Captain and Battalion Chief,
effective January 1, 1979, is by reference incorporated herein.
