RESOLUTION NO. 5848
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
• OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
APPOINTING YVONNE CALMES TO THE POSITION
OF CITY CLERK OF THE CITY FOR
THE REMAINDER OF.THE PRESENT TERM
(Government Code Section 36512)
WHEREAS, the elected City Clerk of the City resigned
from her position effective December 31, 1978;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 36512 of the California
Government Code, the City Council may appoint a person to
fill the remainder of the unexpired term of the office of
City Clerk;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1350, upon the
expiration of the term of the incumbent City Clerk, the
• salary of the City Clerk shall be $100 per month;
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it
is in the best interest of the Citizens of West Covina to
appoint a City Clerk in accordance with the provisions of
Section 36512 of the Government Code;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
West Covina does hereby resolve:
Section 1. That Yvonne Calmes is hereby appointed
City Clerk of the City of West Covina for the remainder of
the unexpired term of the office of City Clerk.
Section 2. Notwithstanding the fact that the
amended City Clerk's salary will not take effect for a period
of time after the appointment of Yvonne Calmes as City Clerk
the salary of the newly appointed City Clerk shall be limited
to $100 per month.
• Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the adoption of this Resolution.
