RESOLUTION NO. 5830
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 1277 TO FIX BENEFITS PAYABLE
TO FIREFIGHTERS, FIRE ENGINEERS, FIRE CAP-
TAINS, AND FIRE BATTALION CHIEFS; AND
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5507.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does re-
solve as follows:
SECTION 1. That portion of Section VI of Resolution
No. 1277 designated in parentheses as relating to the amount of
City payment to the Public Employees' Retirement System defined
by PERS as deferred compensation for professional fire employees
on behalf of the employee's share of the retirement contribution
is amended to read as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto,
and by this reference, incorporated herein.
SECTION 2. That the City's payment will be 5% (five
percent) effective January 1, 1979.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.

-**Effective January 1, 1979, the City will pay to the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS)-the'-
amount defined by PERS as deferred compensation equivalent to 5.0% of.the salaries for professional
employees of the Fire Department on behalf of the employee's share of the retirement contribution.
The amounts in parentheses should be used when comparing salaries, as they include the deferred
compensation paid to employees by City payment of the employee's share of the PERS contribution.
