A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, VACATING AND ABANDON-
ING A PORTION OF A STREET WHICH HAS BEEN SUPER-
SEDED BY RELOCATION (ORANGE AVENUE)
WHEREAS, when the State of California constructed the San
Bernardino Freeway a portion of Orange Avenue.was realigned,
and
WHEREAS, there are no improvements on the remaining portion
of Orange Avenue not realigned, and
WHEREAS, Battaglia Associates has requested the vacation of
the above -mentioned portion of Orange Avenue not realigned for
better utilization of their development plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina
does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Sections 1930 to 1934, inclusive,
of the Streets and Highways Code, the City Council of the City
of West. Covina hereby finds and determines that the following
described portion of Orange Avenue.has been superseded by reloca-
tion:
That portion of Orange Avenue sixty (.60) feet wide, as
shown on the Riggin's Subdivision of the Hathaway Tract, as
• per map recorded in Book 53,.Page 37 of Miscellaneous Records,
in ,the office of the County Recorder of the. County of Los
Angeles, State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the easterly line of
Lot 1 of said Riggin's Subdivision distant thereon
North 04o 13' - 33" East 169. 18 feet from the inter-
section of said easterly line with the centerline
of Pacific Avenue as described in the final decree
of condemnation filed as document No. 190540-in the
office of the Registrar of Titles of s'aid" County;
thence along said easterly line North'.04o 13' 33"
East 98.81'feet to a point._in.a non --tangent curve,
concave southwesterly and having a radius of 25.00
feet, a radial line of said curve to said point
bears North. 750 10' 26" East; thence southerly along
said curve through a central angle of 130 15' 03" an
arc distance of 5.78 feet to the beginning of a
reverse curve, concave.northeasterly and having a
radius of 242.00 feet; thence southeasterly along
said curve through a central angle of 200 12' 20" an
arc distance of 85.34 feet, to a line passing through
the Point of Beginning and having a bearing of
North 690 02' 50" East, thence along said last
• mentioned line South 690 02'.50" West 27.08 feet,
to the Point of Beginning.
SECTION 2. That portion of existing Orange Avenue described
in Section l hereof is hereby summarily vacated and abandoned.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and shall cause a certified copy thereof to be
recorded in the office of the County Recorder of said County.
