RESOLUTION NO. 5790
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING PRO-
CEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY AND FIXING A TIME, DATE
AND PLACE OF THE HEARING ON THE PROPOSED
ANNEXATION (Easterly Annexation No. 225 -
southerly of Cameron Avenue and westerly of
Grand Avenue)
WHEREAS, Easterly Annexation No. 225, an uninhabited
annexation located southerly of Cameron Avenue and westerly of
Grand Avenue, was initiated and filed with the Local Agency
Formation Commission by the City of West Covina (described in
Exhibit "A"); and
WHEREAS, the subject annexation was initiated by the
City of West Covina at the request of property owners in order
to obtain adequate public.services for the development of their
properties and to permit the City of West Covina to incorporate
into its jurisdiction unincorporated County territory within the
City's adopted sphere of influence; and
WHEREAS, said annexation shall be subject to the terms
and conditions set forth in Resolution No. C-1978-48 of the Local
Agency Formation Commission; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 35220(f) of the Government
Code of the State of California requires a hearing on the pro-
posed annexation to be held not less than 30 days nor more than
45 days after the date of adoption of this resolution initiating
proceedings; and
WHEREAS, any owner of land within the territory may file
a written protest against the annexation with the City Clerk of
the City of West Covina any time prior to the conclusion of the
public hearing on the proposed annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the City of West Covina, California, does hereby:
1978.
ATTEST
1. Set the public hearing on Easterly Annexation
No. 225 to be at 8:00 P.M. on November 13, 1978,
in the City Council Chambers located in City
Hall, 1444 West Garvey Avenue, West Covina,
California.
2. Direct the City Clerk to give notice of the
public hearing on said annexation pursuant to
Sections 35222-and 35223 of the Government Code
of the State of California.
