A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
PREPARATION AND FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR
A LAW ENFORCEMENT GRANT (EAST VALLEY BURGLARY
INVESTIGATION TEAM)
• WHEREAS, the City of West Covina desires to continue
for the fourth year a certain project designated "EAST VALLEY
BURGLARY INVESTIGATION TEAM" to be funded in part from funds
made available pursuant to the Crime Control Act of 1973, P1 93-83,
administered by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (herein-
after referred to as OCJP) for the California Council on Criminal
Justice;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager
and Chief of Police of the City of West Covina are authorized,
on its behalf, to submit the attached Application for Grant for
Law Enforcement Purposes to OCJP and are authorized to execute
on behalf of the City of West Covina the attached Grant Award
for law enforcement purposes including any extensions or amend-
ments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to
provide all matching funds required for said project (including
any extension or amendment thereof) under the Crime Control Act
and the rules and regulations -,of OCJP and the Law Enforcement
Assistance Administration (LEAA) and that cash will be appro-
priated as required.thereby.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received here-
under shall not be used to supplant on -going law enforcement
expenditures.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify
to the adoption of this resolution.
