RESOLUTION NO. 5727
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
COLLECT THE ANNUAL SEWER SERVICE CHARGE THROUGH
THE COUNTY GENERAL TAX BILL AND ESTABLISHING A
DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON.
WHEREAS Section 38902 of the Government Code empowers
a city to.fix an annual sewer service standby or immediate
availability charge;
WHEREAS the City of West Covina,by Resolution No. 5726,
has established such a sewer service..or.immediate availability
charge;
WHEREAS the City may collect the standby or immediate'
availability charge as part of theannual general County tax
bill;
WHEREAS the law requires a public hearing be held on
this method of collecting the service charge;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council
of the City of West Covina does hereby declare.its intention
to collect sewer standby -or immediate availability charges as
a part of the;= eral County tax .bill, and hereby sets
July 24, 1978,/a5 he date for the public hearing on this
method of collecting the.service charges.
SECTION 1. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized,
designated and directed to give notice of said hearing in time,
form, and.manner as required by law.
SECTION 2. That the WEST COVINA TRIBUNE,.a weekly news-
paper of general circulation, published and circulated within
the said City of West Covina, California,. is hereby designated
as the newspaper in which.such notice shall.be published.
SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect
immediately, and the City. Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption.of this resolution; shall cause the original of
the same to be entered among the original resolutions of the
City Council of said City; and shall.make a minute,.:of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings
of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting
at which the same is passed and adopted.
