• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR
ELECTRICAL PERMITS AND PLAN CHECKING
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.1 A fee for each electrical permit shall be paid to
the Building Official as set forth in the following Schedule of
Fees:
Schedule of Fees
Forissuing permits, each ........................................ $ 7.00
For receptacle, switch, lighting outlets, first 20, each........... .50
Additional , each......... .30
For lighting fixtures, sockets, or other lamp devices, first

Additional Fixtures, each......... .30
For pole or platform mounted lighting fixtures, each ............. .50
• For Theatrical -type lighting fixtures or assemblies, each........ .50
For fixed residential appliances not exceeding 1 HP, each........ 2.50
NOTE: For other types of air conditioners and other motor
driven appliances having larger electrical ratings,
see power apparatus.
For fixed factory wired non-residential appliances not exceeding
1 HP, KW, or KVA, each ........................................... 2.50
NOTE: For other types of air conditioners and other motor
driven appliances having larger electrical ratings,
see power apparatus.
Power Apparatus
For motors, generators, transformers, rectifiers, converters,
capacitors, industrial heating,.air conditioners and heat pumps,
cooking or baking equipment, and other apparatus, as follows:

NOTE 1. For equipment or appliances having more than one
motor, transformer, heater, etc., the sum of the

NOTE 2. These fees include all switches, circuit breakers,
contactors, thermostats, relays and other directly
related control equipment.
Busways
For trolley and plug-in type busways, each 100 feet or fraction
thereof........................................................... $ 3.00
NOTE: An additional fee will be required for lighting
fixtures, motors, and other appliances that are
connected to trolley and plug-in type busways. No
fee is required for portable tools.
Signs, outline lighting and marquees
For one sign and one branch circuit, each ........................ 10.00
For additional branch circuits, each.............. ................. 2.00
Services
For services of 600-7 or less and not over 200 amps. in rating,
including 1 meter, each .......................................... 12.50
.For services of 600 V or less and over 200 amps. to 1,000 Amps.
in rating, including 1 meter, each ............................... 25.00
. For services over 600 V or over 1,000 Amps. in rating, including
1 meter, each .................................................... 50.00
For each additional meter ........................................ 5.00
Carnivals and Circuses
For electric generators and electrically driven rides, each...... 10.00
For mechanically driven rides and walk-through attractions with
lighting, each .................................................... 3.00
For area and booth lighting, each ................................ 3.00
For permanently installed rides, booths, displays and attractions,
use UNIT FEE SCHEDULE.
Temporary Power Service
For temporary service pole or pedestal and appurtenances, each... 10.00
For a temporary distribution system for construction sites,
decorative lighting, Christmas tree sales lots, fireworks stands,
sales booths etc., each .......................................... 5.00
For miscellaneous conduits and conductors ........................ 15.00
• For special inspections, per hour ................................ 15.00
Forswimming pools, each ......................................... 25.00

NOTE: Swimming.Pool fee includes pump motors, integral
lighting fixtures, and all wiring and outlets
• necessary for operation of same. For additional
electrical outlets or equipment, see Unit Fee
Schedule above.
Other Inspections
For an extra inspection made necessary due to work not being
ready at the time specified or due to work not corrected after
prior written notice, each ....................................... $20.00
For inspection of electrical equipment for which no::fee is herein
set forth and for emergency inspections for the time consumed
perhour ......................................................... 20.00
With a minimum charge for 1/2 hour or less ............. .10.00
SECTION 2, This resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.'
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
