RESOLUTION N0. 5714
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A FRANCHISE
BOND FILED BY THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON
COMPANY.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 159, adopted July 14, 1948
granted a franchise to the Southern California Edison Company
authorizing the use of public streets within the City of West
Covina for the maintenance and operation of an electrical public
utility system; and
WHEREAS, said ordinance required the Southern California
Edison Company to maintain a bond in full force and effect during
the term of the franchise; and
WHEREAS, Southern California Edison Company has tendered
to the City a bond of the Seaboard Surety Company as a replacement
bond for the bond of the Commercial Union Insurance Company:
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West
Covina does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The bond of the Seaboard Surety Company
numbered 829529 in the amount of $1,000.00 is hereby accepted
by the City Council as the franchise bond required by Ordinance
No. 159.
SECTION 2. The bond of the Commercial Union Insurance
Company now on file with the City Clerk is hereby released and the
Clerk is directed to return said bond to the Southern California
Edison Company.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of West Covina at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 12th day of June 1978, by the
