RESOLUTION NO. 5711
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING THE AMENDMENT TO THE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
PLAN, AS SUBMITTED.
. WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors
on May 9, 1978, authorized amendment of its Solid Waste Management
Plan to allow more adequate representation of private enterprise
as members of the Solid Waste Management Committee; and
WHEREAS, implementation of this amendment requires
approval by a majority of the cities within the County which contain
a majority of the population of the incorporated area of the County;
and
WHEREAS, expansion of the Solid Waste Management Committee
provides for the appointment of two additional members from the
private sector of -solid waste management by the Los Angeles County
Division of the League of California Cities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of West Covina hereby approves the aforementioned amendment
and instructs the City Clerk to advise the Los Angeles County Board
of Supervisors of this action.
