RESOLUTION NO. 5708
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA VACATING AND ABANDONING
A PORTION OF A STREET WHICH HAS BEEN
SUPERSEDED BY RELOCATION (BARRANCA STREET).
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has realigned a
portion of Barranca Street, northerly of the San Bernardino
Freeway, and
WHEREAS, there are no improvements on a portion of
the old alignment of Barranca Street, and
WHEREAS, Richard A. Haggerty, the adjacent property
owner, has requested the vacation of the abovementioned portion
of Barranca Street, for better utilization of his property.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West
Covina does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Sections 1930 to 1934, in-
clusive, of the Streets and Highways Code, the City Council of
the City of West Covina hereby finds and determines that the
following described portion of Barranca Street has been super-
seded by relocation:
Bounded westerly by a line that is parallel with and
132.00 feet westerly, measured at right angles, from
the easterly line of said Lot 8; bounded northerly
by a line that is parallel with and 66.00 feet
southerly, measured at right angles, from the northerly
line of said Lot 8; bounded southeasterly by the
following described line: Beginning at the intersection
of the above mentioned parallel lines; thence easterly,
along said parallel line that is parallel to the
northerly line of said Lot 8, 65.66 feet to the be-
ginning of a tangent curve, concave southeasterly and
having a radius of 64.67 feet; thence westerly, south-
westerly and southerly, along said curve through a
delta of 900 46' 36" an arc length of 102.46 feet to
a point of tangency with the above mentioned line that
is parallel with the easterly line of said Lot 8.
SECTION 2. That portion of existing Barranca Street
described in Section 1 hereof is hereby summarily vacated
and abandoned.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified copy
thereof to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder
of said County.
