A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, DENYING AN APPLI-
CATION FOR AN UNCLASSIFIED USE PERMIT
(Unclassified Use Permit No. 223 - Rodeffer
• Investments)
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. Rodeffer Investments has applied to the
Planning Commission for the approval of an unclassified use permit
for the construction and operation of a coin -operated ten -court
racquetball facility at the northwest corner of Walnut Avenue and
Francisquito Avenue in the C-2 (General Commercial) Zone. The
Planning Commission by its Resolution No. 4-78-2850 denied the
unclassified use permit. The applicant has appealed -the -_action
of the Planning Commission to the City Council.
SECTION 2. The City Council, after notice and public
hearing, does hereby find and determine that, because of potential
problems which might arise due to the unattended nature of the
facility, such as loitering and vandalism, the inability to observe
activity within the courts, and its incompatibility with adjacent
single family residences, this use is not in the best interest of
public health, safety, peace or general welfare.
SECTION 3. Unclassified Use Permit No. 223 is hereby
denied.
SECTION 4. The '.City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution:
