RESOLUTION NO. 5689
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY.COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A:QUITCLAIM DEED BY THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA - TO RICHARD A. HAGGERTY, VALERIE A.
HAGGERTY, WERNER FRED BIEWERS AND YOLANDA
BIEWERS,, FOR A PORTION OF -;VACATED OLD BARRANCA
STREET AND DIRECTING -THE RECORDATION THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of West Covina
does hereby find and determine that the certain portion of old
Barranca Street now vacated described as follows:
That portion of Lot 8 in Block 26 of the Phillips
Tract, in the City of West Covina, in the County
of Los Angeles,.State of California, as per map
recorded in Book 9, Pages 3 and 4 of miscellane-
ous records, in the office of the County Recorder,
of said County, bounded as follows,
-Bouhded:.northwesterly. by, _the:....northwesterly; line; of
Barranca Street (66.00 feet wide) as described in
the deed to -the County of Los Angeles and recorded
on No 28, 1934, as Document No. 766 in Book
13072%Page 328 of official records of said County;
bounded easterly by the easterly line of the land
described in deed to the County of Los Angeles,
recorded in Book 766, Page 243 of deeds, records
of said county, bounded southerly by the following
described line: Beginning at the northerly extremity
of that certain course described as South 00 09' 58"
East, 142.43 feet in the deed to the State of Calif-
ornia; recorded on January 29, 1957, as Document No.
1307, in Book 53494, Page 152 of said official
records; thence South 00 09' 58" East, 133.55 feet;
thence North 87020' 25" West to the intersection
with the Southeasterly line of that portion of said
Barranca Street, vacated by the City of West Covina
on November 25, 1957, by Resolution No. 1234, re-
corded on December 2, 1957 in Book 56165, Page 347
of Official. Records of said County, and the.true
point of beginning; thence North 76o4O' 33" West
to the Northwesterly line of the aforementioned
Barranca Street as described in the deed to the
County of Los Angeles, and recorded in Book 13072
Page 328 of Official Records:;
is no longer needed for the public -purposes for which it was
acquired and for any other public purpose that the public con-
venience and `necessity require that the same be quitclaimed
to Richard A...Haggerty,.Valerie.A. Haggerty, Werner Fred
.Biewers and Yolanda Biewers.

. SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized and instructed to execute in the name of
the City of West Covina a Quitclaim Deed conveying all right,
title and interest of the City of West Covina in and to said
real property to Richard A. Haggerty, Valerie A. Haggerty,
Werner Fred Biewers and Yolanda Biewers, herein described,
and cause the said Quitclaim Deed and a certified copy of
this resolution to be filed for record in the office of the
County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.
